A LITERARY CRIME WAVE COMES TO MARTHA MERRELL’S……
Martha Merrell’s is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the “ Queens of Crime” on Tuesday, October 14th. Those who attend will have an opportunity to meet Jennifer Turner (J. R. Turner) and Luisa Buehler, starting with a reception at 6:30 PM. This will be followed by a joint presentation and book-signing at 7. Among Luisa’s books are The Rosary Bride, The Lion Tamer: A Caged Death, The Station Master: A Scheduled Death, The Scoutmaster: A Prepared Death and The Lighthouse Keeper: A Beckoning Death, published in 2007. Jenny combines action/adventure with romantic suspense in her novels which include: Bulletproof Bride, Silent Knight, Stark Night, The Knight Before, Racing the Moon, My Biker Bodyguard, Face the Dark, Born to Run, and Driven to Love.
Let’s let the ladies introduce themselves to readers in Waukesha…
Luisa Buehler, a native of the Chicago area published her first novel, The Rosary Bride, in May, 2003. The road to publication took some dips and twists along a well-traveled road that included among other things --working at the Chicago Sun Times, being an employment counselor and a business owner. Luisa lives in Lisle, IL, with her husband Gerry, son Christopher and the family’s cat Martin Marmalade. Her series follows cold cases while using a blend of charming savvy, romance, a touch of the supernatural and of course, murder.
Born blonde and Polish, Jennifer Turner writes action adventure thrillers and romances. She lives in Wisconsin with her husband Eddie, a red-headed Texan, and her three children: Dustin, Molly and Matthew. Her upbringing helped shape and hone her imagination and dedication to the romantic arts. Besides writing and her family, Jenny actively pursues 3 things: white chocolate, dark chocolate and more chocolate.
In case you missed them on the 4th, Hembrook and Heling will be back on Friday evening, October 24th, from 5-7 PM. They will be signing copies of their latest children’s book, Midnight Fright, released just in time for Halloween. The popular duo has penned a number of books for early readers that will also be available for purchase.
Friday Night Fever has gone indoors here and also at The Steaming Cup now that October has arrived. The performance time is the same, though: 6:30 – 8:30 PM.
Anyone is welcome to join any of our BIG READ events this month. We are pleased to be a part of the City of Waukesha’s BIG READ which this year features The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
